Nathan and I were lucky enough to make it back to Idaho for Christmas this year. We had the WHOLE Hahn clan together for the first time in over two years! Needless to say... it was LONG over due and so so wonderful!! :)
Nathan was able to take off almost two weeks for Christmas... which was one of the best gifts ever!! Our Christmas break started with going to church on Christmas Sunday! It is one of my most favorite days of the year, when the whole sacrament meeting is dedicated to a Christmas Program. Listening to the story of the Savior's birth and listening to beautiful Christmas songs for an hour. It is the best way to feel of the Christmas Spirit! Makes me so happy inside. :)
(Look who was on our flights with us from Detroit all the way to SLC... Alex Boye!)
Later that same day we were at the airport waiting to fly out west! It seemed to take FOR-EVERRR to get to Salt Lake City. Our flight out of Detroit was delayed about an hour, which ended up making our layover in Denver a little shorter (which was nice), but once we got into SLC we had to wait on the plane for almost 40 minutes before we could even get to our gate, then our bags took forever to get to us, and we still had to drive 3 1/2 hours to Idaho Falls! We were able to travel up to Idaho with my parents and little sister, Malarie, flew in earlier that evening. But when we were supposed to be getting into SLC by 8:30 pm and didn't get in until almost 11:00 pm, then finally arrived at my sisters house in Idaho around 2:00 am....it made for a long, long day! BUT we made it, and were finally together with family, and it was so worth it! :)
My sister and her little family cut down this tree earlier in the month, but Zaylie (my niece) insisted that they wait to decorate it until we all got there, so we could decorate it together! So one of the first nights we were all there, we busted out all the fun decorations and went to town! It was so so fun, and I think it turned out pretty dang good! ;) Love all the handmade ornaments, they are the best!!
The first day we got to Idaho I said goodbye to my hair! About 8 inches of it. :0 This is about how I felt for the first 24 hours after it happened... excited, yet freaked out! Haha!!
I can't be in Idaho and NOT have a night with my k-sisters! (We definitely missed our fourth member, who was spending Christmas in Alabama)
I absolutely loved going on a triple date with these ladies!! We got to catch up on life, and be silly and laugh for hours and hours! Our men were great troopers for putting up with us! haha!
Christmas Eve and it started snowing!!! Just in time for Christmas.
Zaylie and I were just a tad bit excited about it, running around trying to catch snowflakes on our tongues!
The big project while we were all there was helping Shan and Arch putting their Kitchenette all in, down in their basement. Nathan really enjoyed painting and putting the cabinets up! He's got the itch and can't wait till we have our own house where we can do fun renovation projects like this.
Christmas Eve PJ's! The whole family was matching! But we failed terribly and didn't get a picture of us all. :(
The snow just kept on coming... this is how it looked outside before we went to bed on Christmas Eve! Yay!!
A beautiful white Christmas Morning! <3
Christmas Day was most fabulous! It was so fun to be 'home' and with family. We spent the morning opening up stockings and watching Zaylie and Titan having a blast with their new toys! A handful of us got silly string in our stockings, so of course we had quite the epic silly string war. Nathan and Zaylie were COVERED, as were most of the walls! haha! After we got recovered from the silly string war, we took a break and had our Christmas morning breakfast tradition! French toast with buttermilk syrup, eggs and bacon! MmmMmmmMmmm so yummy!!
Once our tummies were all full of deliciousness, we opened the rest of the presents and had a great time just relaxing in our pj's all day. (Except Nathan, who is crazy and can't stand staying in his pj's all day! haha)
Nathan's brother Ben sent us an Apple TV for Christmas! We were so so stoked!! Thanks Ben!! :)
Nathan and I didn't get each other much for Christmas, because coming to Idaho was our gift to one another/everyone! But I found this little helicopter on sale at Walmart earlier that week and just had to get it for Nathan. I'm so glad I did! This was his face pretty much every time he was playing with it! Pure excitement! :D
Uncle Jason was pushing Titan around in this little box! He was loving it!
With all the snow we got, sledding was a must! Let me just say, having a snowmobile to bring you up the hill every time makes sledding way more fun!! And you can last for so much longer, because you don't get tired trekking up the hill! It was the most fun I've had sledding in a LONG time! We made some sweet, long trains and just had a blast!!
Nathan and Zaylie, too excited to go sledding.. they couldn't even wait for the snowmobile to get unloaded!
Sibling selfie!
The famous blue steel.... except Jason is doing Magnum. ;)
Titan went down the hill a couple times by himself. It was the cutest thing to watch! Every time it looked like he would fall off or over, he somehow kept on going, turning round and round and laughing the whole way down!
Zaylie and Titan went out to play in the snow... and Nathan was soon to follow! They were out there for hours playing around! Making sledding tracks and hills, building a snowman and having epic snowball fights!
My bestie, Joanna, and I were in town at the same time, so of course we had to have a bestie Fro-yo date! It had been way too long since we'd last seen each other. But every time we get together it's like we are 14 all over again! Laughing and being crazy!
true friends right there! ;)
Last night together! :(
Our time in Idaho was so so great! Thanks Shan and Arch for letting the whole family come and invade your house for Christmas! We had a blast! Nathan and I loved spending all that time with family! It's hard living so far away from every one. But it just makes visits that much better!
My parents, Malarie, Nathan and I headed back to Utah spent the day helping my brother, Jason, with some projects on his house in Lehi. Then we spent the evening with my dads sisters Cindy, and Katie and her family, eating delicious chocolate cake and playing games!
The next day, New Years Eve, Malarie and my parents flew back to Atlanta. Nathan and I still had another day before we flew out, so we decided to make a date of it. We got a hotel by the airport and ended up just relaxing most of the day in our hotel room trying to catch up on some sleep! Our time in Idaho was dang fun, but exhausting!! Haha! Later that night we went to the hotels restaurant for dinner, then went and relaxed in the hot tub, and ended the night bringing in the New Year cuddled up in bed watching the ball drop on TV! A very low key New Years Eve, but we were so exhausted that it was the perfect night for us! I loved every minute of it! :)
We flew back to Michigan New Years Day and once we got home it was straight to hurry and unpack, do laundry and repack for our next adventure! Orlando here we come! :)
