So Nathan and I made plans to go float the river one
friday night in mid July 2012.
We had a pleasant warm evening floating and after about 50 minutes we came around a bend and saw these tiki torches.
Nathan's words were, "weird! we got some pagans doing some ritual out here or something?" (Apparently it looked differently then he had thought it would... Haha)
I originally assumed they were someone else's, but as we got closer to the bank I realized no one else was around and people don't just leave burning tiki torches sitting on random river banks.
I noticed there was a basket with a bouquet of daises My favorite flowers... hmmmm..... coincidence?!
I THINK NOT!
When Nathan said, " well, I GUESS WE'RE HERE!" I started to suspect that this was planned. :)
He pulled a little box out of the picnic basket and you'll never believe what was inside!
It was my Ring!!!!! THE RING!!! Like the one I've been in love with since I pinned it on Pinterest forty some odd months ago!
Nathan got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!
And of course I said YES!!!!
In the picnic basket he had my favorite wraps from New York Burrito and my favorite cookie dough dessert pizza from Pizza Pie Cafe, customized with a heart drizzled over the top!!
I asked him who set this all up for us, his response : "you know how i said Evan and McKenna were doing something romantic tonight? ...yeah.... this is it!" (Nathan's old roommate and his then girlfriend... now wife!) A minute later we heard rustling in the bushes and saw Evan and McKenna making their escape! They are pretty covert, I didn't even notice them hiding with her Canon Rebel!
We stayed for as long as we could stand the bug bites and the cold and
eventually wussed out and packed up!
So thats the story!
