Is Spring here yet?

So I hadn't done anything to my hair since my wedding... no trim, no color, nothing. And for me that's a long time! Lately I've really been wanting to change it up a bit, but couldn't decide what I wanted to do. So a couple weeks ago I finally went to my friend Annie Cooper (who is a great hairstylist) and told her that I wanted a change, but wasn't sure what to do, and was having a hard time making a decision. I told her to just go for it and do something fun!

So the weather here in Idaho, likes to tease us! We have been getting small glimpses of Springtime coming, and those small glimpses have been very nice! So one of the first glimpses we got, Nathan and I busted out our cruiser bikes that we got last fall and went for a bike ride to the lake! It was still pretty chilly, but the sun was out and it was warmer than it has been in a long time!

It was great to be outside, and out on a bike ride! It made me really want the warm weather to get here!! I'm ready for summer!!

Happy Birthday Nathan!

Happy 25th birthday to Nathan!!

 So some of you might already know this about me, but I LOVE birthdays, and I LOVE to make a big deal about them. Nathan found that out last week! :) I threw him his first ever surprise party the Saturday before his birthday! It was at my sisters house in Idaho Falls and had it a Duck Dynasty theme, which was pretty fun! I decorated her basement all in cameo, and made Nathan a Duck Dynasty poster for his man cave garage. I also got him a pretty cool Hunters cake for the party! We had a good time hanging out with friends and watching some fun Duck Dynasty episodes!! It was fun to see how surprised Nathan was when we got there! I'm glad I was able to keep it from him till then!

 
On Nathan's actual birthday I only had to work in the morning. So when I got home we had some lunch and then met up with some of his buddies so they could go trike drifting! They found this hill, that they love and they are always wanting to go there, but they need a driver to pull them back up the hill! So that's my job.... haha! These guys have so much fun with these drift trikes, it is so fun to watch! 

After a couple of hours, we headed back home so I could make Nathan his favorite dinner (lasagna) and finish his birthday cake (German Chocolate). We spent the rest of the night with just the two of us, eating lasagna and birthday cake and snuggling while watching a movie we rented (Here Comes the Boom). It was a fun, and eventful, yet relaxing day!

Where did February Go?!

I can't believe it's almost March already!! Where has February gone?! 

It has been a fun and busy month for Nathan and I! It was full of school, work, job interviews, road trips to Utah and Boise, Valentines day, snowmobiling, and spending time with family and friends! 

So it was Nathan and I's first Valentine's Day together, so I wanted to do something special and fun for it! So for the week of Valentine's Day, everyday I put out a candy bar with a fun little "love" saying for Nathan. Then for the day of I made a poster of a candy bar poem for him, and had it in his car when he left for school that day!

After work, I came home to a bouquet of orange roses and my favorite chinese dinner!

The day before Valentine's Day Nathan had a job interview in Spanish Fork, UT. So we took a quick day trip down to Utah that day. We got up early and left Rigby around 7:00 that morning. When we stopped in Thanksgiving point to fill up on gas, Nathan got a phone call from another company (in Detroit, Michigan) he has been interviewing with and they offered him a Job! So, needless to say, the rest of the drive down to Spanish Fork, our minds were going 100 miles a minute! Talking about pros and cons, and everything! Nathan was excited to know that they were very impressed by him and wanted him! Helped give him more confidence for his next interview! Around 11:00 ish we rolled in to Spanish Fork and I dropped him off at his interview! A couple hours later he had finished up at the interview, feeling pretty confident that they would offer him a job as well! So we had lots to talk and think about! 

Both Nathan and I have brothers that live in the Provo area, so while we were in town we wanted to see them! So we first dropped by Nathan's brother Ben's house. We caught up and hung out with him for a couple hours, which was so great! Then around 5 we headed to Lehi area to meet my brother Jason for dinner before we headed back home! It was so good to see him and catch up with him as well! Finally around 6:30 we started making our way back home to good ole Rigby! We pulled in around 10:30 ish, and were glad to be home! It was a long but good day! We were really glad we were able to see our brothers for a little bit at least! 

 On the road again!!

Then two days later, on Friday, after work and school we packed up our car again and headed to Boise for the long weekend! Nathan's old roommate and good buddy invited us to go to Boise, with his finance and another old roommate and his wife, where his family lives and spend the weekend snowmobiling! It was a blast! We had such a great time with everyone there! We went up to Cascade and spent a good chunk of Saturday snowmobiling!

  By the time we got back that night we were all pooped! We spent the rest of the weekend just relaxing and having fun with everyone! It was a great weekend, and so nice to get away for a couple of days to just play and relax!! Oh and on our way to Boise, Nathan got another job offer from the place in Spanish Fork! Crazy!! So the weekend was really good for us. It helped get our minds off of things for a couple days! Then of course, every good thing has to come to an end, and the weekend was over and we had to head back home to real life, and making a decision on a job!

We had a busy week, with school and work, and trying to decide which job to take, and also my mom and sister came to visit for the week from Atlanta, so we spent as much time as we could with them!

 It was fun to see my mom and sister, and to spend time with my family for a couple of days! We had some good times, and really enjoyed having my niece and nephew entertain us!!

and now.... without further ado...........

With much thought, and pro and con lists, plugging in numbers, looking at google maps street view,  and many, many prayers, we have decided to accept the job in.......................

Detroit, Michigan! 

Scary place, I know. But we have looked at some suburbs southwest of Detroit that look really nice and safe! We don't know yet when we will start, but we should know in the next couple of weeks! I will keep you posted! We are excited, and can't wait for our next adventure together!!

Crazy Snow!!

 Alright, so before I tell you all about our crazy snow storm, I must share my exciting news! .................................  ........... ........ Nathan and I got iPhone's!! Haha :D!

Ok, it probably isn't very exciting, BUT as some of you knew, I have been wanting an iphone for the past 3 or 4 years, and lately it has seemed like everyone I know has been getting one! So after lots of selling and convincing to Nathan, from his brother Jay and me, he finally caved and we got iphones!! It was a joyous day in the Brooksby household! :)

So anyway...... Idaho has been having some crazy extreme weather this winter. It has been FREEZING here for weeks without a break. Everyday it would only be in the negatives or single digits. They had to cancel school one day because it was TOO cold outside! So awful! Well it finally warmed up for a couple days (when i say warm i mean in the high 20's lower 30's) that is pretty sad that those temps are warm to us right now! So after a couple days of that warmer weather a crazy snow storm blew in and last Sunday we woke up to it snowing, and the wind blowing, and our cars covered in snow!

It continued to snow throughout the whole day and apparently the night as well, because when we woke up that next morning there was snow EVERYWHERE!!

 All the local schools were canceled again, but this time it was an actual snow day! Nathan got up to go to school, but could barely get our of our apartment complex. He ended up helping a few neighbors who were stuck in the snow, and decided to stay home and not risk the roads up to Rexburg. A couple hours later the snow plow came around the main road and pushed about 2-3 feet of snow at the end of our driveway, the only way to get out of our apartment complex. So needless to say, we were snowed in, if we weren't already! In the mid afternoon we went out to the parking lot, and a couple of neighbors and us were shoveling cars out and a guy came with his 4 wheeler and plow and started plowing all the snow away! After a couple hours the snow was cleared enough to get our cars out! After all the snow was plowed, there were big piles of snow and of course Nathan and I had to play in them! So we made a snow cave! It was fun to play in the snow. That was the first time we'd been able to play in it all winter!

Even though we were wet and really cold afterwards, it was so fun! We had a great time out in the snow with each other!! :)

The Never Ending Puzzle!!

So Nathan and I got this 1000 piece puzzle from my parents a couple weeks before christmas. We were so excited to have another puzzle to do! We thought " 1000 pieces?! no big deal! We can finish that in a day or two!"..... little did we know it would take much, MUCH longer! A couple nights after we got it we decided to open it up and give it a try, still thinking we'd finish it in a couple of days, way before we had to leave on our trip to Washington for Christmas. We started dividing all the pieces and putting all the edges together and turing them all over and what not. And we started to notice that the pieces were all really weird shaped, and lots looked like edges but weren't edges... after a little bit we looked up at each other and said..."I think this is going to take a little longer than usual"...haha! So we spent hours that night working on it and got very little progress, spent a couple hours the next night..still not getting very far. So we just left it on our table and kept working on it whenever we could. Christmas was getting closer and closer and we were still no where to being finished! Before we left for Washington we did have the whole boarder put together and most of the main objects in the puzzle. So of course what was left were all the dark super weird shaped pieces that we had NO clue where they went! When we got back from our trip Nathan was ready to just put it back into the box and try it again another time, but I was determined to finish it!! So we slowly kept working on it every night. There were times were we would just be staring at this puzzle for a good 20 mins or so and still not able to make progress. We would be looking for a certain puzzle piece, that on the puzzle looked like it would just be one piece, but it would end up being a mix of 2 or 3 pieces to make that one. So it was very confusing and hard to figure out where they all went! It was not your typical puzzle thats for sure! So finally, after almost a MONTH of working on this puzzle, we had only one corner left to finish! We both sat there and spent the last 30 mins or so working on it, so determined to finish this thing! FINALLY the last piece was placed and we let out a huge sigh... then cheered!! haha! We completed the puzzle once and for all!! WOOHOO! =)

Our first Christmas-2012!

Nathan and I celebrated our first christmas together this year, and it was wonderful! 

We got this cute ornament from my Grandma Forrester!

Christmas for the Hahn family came early this year, because my parents and little sister moved to Atlanta, Georgia the week before Christmas. So we all got together and had our own christmas before they left! We decorated christmas cookies, made peanut butter balls, opened presents from each other, and enjoyed being together as a family!

A dear friend of mine sent us a new ornament to add to our tree!!

On our way to Washington for Christmas, we went down to Salt Lake City the day before we flew out  and had a fun date night together! We went to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, which was amazingly yummy! Then with super full tummies, we headed over to temple square and walked around to see all the lights! It was so beautiful and so fun to spend with each other!

We stayed at a hotel near the airport that night, then the next morning (Christmas Eve) the hotel took us to the SLC airport! The airport wasn't busy at all! We checked in, got through security and got to our gate within about 20 minutes! It was a nice and relaxing trip to Washington! 

We had such a wonderful time with the Brooksby's for Christmas! We played lots of games, did puzzles, talked, and got to play with some of Nathan's nieces, Riley and Piper! They are some of the cutest little girls! Nathan and I are lucky to be an aunt and uncle to so many cute little girls and one handsome little dude!

While we were in Washington we were able to go visit some family I have in Renton! They took us to the "Clam Lights" down by the water there! It was so fun!

We also had an open house for our wedding while we were there! It was way fun to have an excuse to wear my dress again! Nathans mom did a great job in decorating the church gym for the occasion! She made cute pumpkin carriages for the center pieces on all the tables, and also made lots of amazing desserts! Blueberry cheesecake and brownies!! yummy!! 

All in all, Nathan and I's first Christmas together was fantastic! It was great to be able to have christmas with both families; to spend time with the Hahn's before they moved and to go visit the Brooksby's! Life is great and we couldn't be happier! =)
