Detroit Zoo!

Last weekend, the sun was out.. ish.... and it wasn't raining, so Nathan suggested we go the the Zoo for the morning! Of course I could not turn down a chance to go to the Detroit Zoo! So we woke up early Saturday morning, ran some quick errands and then headed to the zoo. There weren't very many people there in the morning, so that was really nice! We got to spend as much time as we wanted at each animal enclosures' and were able to go right up front and see it all! 

I had never seen a black squirrel before! So cool!

The Gorilla exhibit was super cool! They have 3 Silverbacks that are all brothers, and whoa they are HUGE!! When we first got to it, one of them was just sitting there looking at us. It looked like he was posing for all the pictures! After a while one of his brothers decided to come over and take his spot. It was pretty cool to see them run around and interact with one another. 

This little baby chimp was running all around and then came over to one of the older chimps and started taking part of his 'bed' so she could make her own bed! It was cute watching her try and rearrange the bed so she could get comfy. 

This Giraffe was playing with his toy, and would stop and make sure we were all still watching him, then go back to playing with it again! 

Kangaroo's!! I had never seen a kangaroo in real life, so that was pretty neat! But I just wanted to go up and pet them all! Nathan was disappointed that we couldn't go up to them either. When he served his Mission in Australia he would go to zoo's and they were able to go up to them pet them! He also would chase HUGE kangaroos in the wild.. at night.. he is crazy! So he wasn't too impressed.. but still cool to see Kangaroo's in Michigan! haha

PENGUINS!!! of course we had to stop at the Penguin exhibit. I am so glad we did, they had a TON of penguins, it was so so fabulous!! :) 

Even though it was pretty dang cold, we still had a lot of fun and were super glad we went! :)

MACKLEMORE!

For our 1 year anniversary I got Nathan Macklemore tickets! He was so stoked about it, and so was I! So the day for the concert FINALLY came last weekend. We were so so excited about it!

It was such a great concert! Macklemore and Ryan Lewis did an amazing job! They are great performers and put on a great show. It was really cool to hear all of the stories behind Macklemore's songs. I was so impressed how he could get the audience to quiet down to where there was silence.. and he would talk to us and tell us his experiences and life lessons he has learned, then within seconds he could get the crowd cheering and jumping to where you couldn't even hear yourself think, it was so loud! Anyway, it was a fabulous concert and we had a great time! :)

Nathan's New Toy

Nathan has been wanting to make us some bedroom furniture, since we don't have any and can't seem to find anything we like. So of course he had to get some new toys to do that. One of his favorites is this Miter Saw! He is still so so excited about it! 

The only problem is was...we don't have a garage. So with the weather getting cold and things, were would we build all this furniture? Oh no probs... we can just turn our second bedroom into our new and improved garage! haha!! But as you can see it was a mess in there! You could barely walk in it. So I spent a good couple days going through everything, getting rid of things, consolidating, and reorganizing closets and things till FINALLY it was clear enough to set up shop!

So now Nathan has his garage! A nice, comfy and warm garage! 

And he wasted no time getting started!

He is starting with building two night stands for us! This is what the sides and the front will look like! I can't wait for them to be finished, they are going to look so cool! And then we can stop using moving boxes as our night stands. :)
